In the past, TACA membership was separate from the TACA Animal Control Officer Certification service.  Because of the changes in state law (Health and Safety Code Chapt.829), no entity is currently the official keeper of continuing education hours.  However, TACA will continue to keep hours for its members only until the new system provided by the Texas Department of State Health Services becomes operational.  Inquiries about the timetable or policies concerning certification should now be directed to your local DSHS Regional Office.

TACA will no longer be able to keep the hours of non-members.

TACA memberships are renewed on a year to date basis.

TACA has four different types of memberships;

Active $50 YR. Open to all animal control and humane personnel whose primary duties are directly related to animal control. (receive these benefits;  TACA Newsletters, voting rights, reduced conference & seminar registration fees for those sponsored by TACA , and reduced new certification fee for advanced & administrative if basic certification is current.

Associate $20 YR. Open to Public Health & Veterinary Health Personnel, Government Officials, Quasi-Public Organizations, Veterinarians and others interested in animal control. (receive the TACA Newsletter)

Supportive $50 YR. Open to veterinarian medical organizations, supply companies pet food, companies, municipalities and other organizations interested in animal control. (receive TACA Newsletter)

Corporate $100 YR. Open to Business & Corporations. (receive ad in annual conference book, TACA Newsletter)
