TACA is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all meeting participants and staff. All participants, including, but not limited to, attendees, speakers, volunteers, exhibitors, staff members, service providers, and all others are expected to abide by this Code of Conduct.
This Policy applies to all TACA events, including those sponsored by organizations other than TACA but held in conjunction with TACA events, on public or private platforms. TACA has zero-tolerance for any form of discrimination or harassment, including but not limited to sexual harassment by participants or our staff at our meetings or training events. If you experience harassment or hear of any incidents of unacceptable behavior, TACA asks that you inform Al Garces, Executive Director, at contacttaca@gmail.com or 832-629-5535, reach out to any Board Member so that we can take the appropriate action.
Unacceptable Behavior is defined as:
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form. Verbal abuse of any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, TACA staff member, service provider, or other meeting guest.
- Examples of verbal abuse include, but are not limited to, verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, national origin, inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces or in presentations, or threatening or stalking any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, TACA staff member, service provider, or other meeting guest.
- Disruption of presentations during sessions, in the exhibit hall, or at any other virtual or in-person events organized by TACA.
- All participants must comply with the instructions of the moderator and any TACA event staff.
- Presentations, postings, and messages should not contain promotional materials, special offers, job offers, product announcements, or solicitation for services except where specifically allowed.
TACA reserves the right to remove such messages and potentially ban sources of those solicitations. TACA reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from the meeting without warning or refund, in response to any incident of unacceptable behavior, and TACA reserves the right to prohibit attendance at any future meeting, virtually or in-person.
TACA's COVID-19 Protocols
In order to help protect all our members and guests, TACA will adhere to all city, county, state, and federal orders with regards to COVID-19 and the following protocols will be in place at all TACA sponsored courses, conferences, and events: - Social distancing will be encouraged and all attendees must be respectful of other's preferences for space
- Masks will be strongly encouraged but not required
- Hand sanitizer stations will be in place for use as needed
- If participants answer yes to any of the following questions, they may be asked to remove themselves from the event with credit given towards their attendance at a future course, conference, or event:
- Do you feel sick?
- Do you have a sore throat?
- Do you have a cough or shortness of breath?
- Have you had any contact with someone who has been directed to or has voluntarily self-isolated?
